Cub Scout Year Round Programs

Cub Scouts have many different opportunities for outdoor adventure. Below are upcoming activities and events that are held at Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base and in the Flint River Council. Many activities await you and your Scouts in the outdoors. Everything from the thrill of experiencing the natural beauty, to earning patches and advancement, to taking part in the special activities planned by your district.

You have many opportunities to camp at Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base. Below are some of the outdoor activities that your pack can participate in. As always, the staff at the reservation are ready to help you plan a pack activity that your Scouts will remember for many years to come.



Cub Scout Family Canoeing
On Still Branch Reservoir or the lakes at Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base.


Cub Scout Family Climbing and Rappelling
½ day climbing on the indoor wall.

Cub Scout Family Fishing
Fish on the lakes of Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base or the Flint River.


Cub Scout Family Hiking
Day hike up to 12 miles on the trails of Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base.


Cub Scout Family Shooting Sports
½ day BB's, ½ day Archery
